SEWING CLASSES

I’ve been sewing since I was a child. My mother is an incredible award-winning quilt maker, and my grandmother made her own clothes (I use her serger now that she has passed). For years, I was a costume designer in Los Angeles & New Orleans and now I make upcycled natural fiber clothing full-time in my tiny house studio.

Upcoming Classes

October 25, 2025

Noon - 6pm
6 Hour Class, 8 students Total

@ The Orange Show ~ Houston, Texas

Take Care of the Things You Already Have in an upcycling mending class where people bring their own sewing machine and their own mending pile and we spend all day together learning techniques to fix button holes, hem pants, take things in, add patches, whatever people need! I bring my serger and hand sewing supplies as well to share.

There is also a Clothing Swap element of the class because we need to have fabric scraps and things to cut up to use for our modification purposes so people are invited to bring any textiles they want to get rid of (even if things are ripped or stained!) because we might need them to upcycle a different article of clothing.

I keep class prices Sliding Scale & allow people to pay what they can. For a 6 hour class, I ask $150 - 250 : Pay between what you think it’s worth and what you can afford. I also do payment plans if people need to pay half this month & half next month.

To Sign up : email me Corinne.loperfido@gmail.com and let me know which day you want to come. I take Venmo, PayPal, cash app, and cash is queen of course ;)
