Upcycled Clothing

I get things from the bins, from free piles, from my Decluttering Doula clients who are getting rid of things, and I create custom made to order wearable art from textiles that would otherwise be thrown away. If you’d like something made for yourself or a client, please email me and we can talk about it!

Tshirts Scrap Dresses

When I started cutting letters out of T-shirts, I didn’t think about what I would do with the rest of the 90% of the T-shirt that you have left over after cutting off the design. After they started to pile up, I realized I needed to make something LARGE in order to use up all this jersey fabric. T-shirts are one of the things that people have the most of and also that the majority of end up in the landfill, so I like using them because they are abundant. I wanted to make a design that used up fabric and also was something that people would *actually* wear and so in collaboration with Aaron Torres of Sleep, Never we created these dresses. Each is custom one-of-a-kind based on whatever scraps I had in that color. I now focus on using only 100% cotton shirts as I work to eliminate polyester from my creative practice life.

Towel Clothes

100% cotton upcycled towel clothes made from discarded towels from the goodwill bins or estate sales. Sewn in collaboration with Aaron Torres of Sleep, Never.
